[edit] SoL Philosophy

Since day one, the SoL philosophy has been that the system user (or, in that case, administrator) has complete control over his system and knows what she is doing. We, the SoL developers, think that we should not provide a set of predefined configurations for such complex systems, and therefore provide the services "as is", like they are meant to be when provided by the creator.

Hence, SoL does not provide bloated global configuration monsters that explode in flames when you do minor changes. Only very simple basic "system" configuration tasks like network and keyboard configuration as well as the start of services are "handled by SoL", the configuration of programs, services, daemons, servers, utilities, etc. has to be done by the user himself.

[edit] Configuration Tasks

Yes, there isn't really much more that can be configured on "SoL itself". Everything else is application configuration, refer to the documentation of the application itself for more information.
