To further enhance the value of the SoL 25 DVD and make it some kind of Swiss army knife, we included some useful tools and utilities, which can be found in the contrib directory in the DVD root directory. Most of these tools are for Windows, to provide similar or same (which you can expect from the Windows ports) functionality of some Linux tools.

An alternative for Putty, which makes it possible to store configuration data in files instead of the Windows registry (like Putty does).
[edit] Etherboot images
To provide PXE support for network cards which can not natively do PXE, we included the Etherboot images on the SoL 25 DVD which can be found in the contrib/etherboot subdirectory. You need to burn/write the appropriate image for your network card onto a CD/Floppy, and boot from CD/Floppy to enable the PXE stack. This is mainly included on the DVD to use the PXE Installation of SoL 25.
[edit] QEMU
QEMU (http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/) is a processor emulator and virtualizer for several different architectures. The Windows version is included on the SoL 25 DVD in the directory qemu. Additionally, we provide two batch files (ISO_BOOT.bat and BOOT_THIS_CD.bat, the latter one is on the root directory of the DVD as well) which allow it to easily boot the DVD in a virtual machine and therefore, run the Diskless Mode under Windows. The Linux version of QEMU is also included in SoL 25.
